Krones Recycling’s operations already process a variety of plastics

The formation of Krones Recycling GmbH highlights the increasing significance of the recycling sector and its role in achieving Krones’ sustainability goals. Krones, with nearly 30 years' experience in plastics processing and 25 years in recycling, aims to improve its recycling expertise through this spin-off.

Krones CEO Christoph Klenk stated, “The spin-off will enable Krones Recycling to develop faster and in line with market requirements. This division makes a decisive contribution to protecting the environment by returning plastic waste to the value-added cycle.”

Michael Gotsche, managing director of Krones Recycling GmbH, emphasised the benefits of the new structure, noting, “The newly founded company offers us the necessary flexibility and scope for action to implement decisions in a customer-oriented, fast, and optimised manner.”

Despite its independence, Krones Recycling will maintain a strong connection with the Krones Group, ensuring that clients continue to benefit from Krones’ comprehensive line expertise. Gotsche added, “Our worldwide sales and service network remains available without restriction.”

Krones Recycling’s operations already process a variety of plastics, including PET, PE, PP, and PS. The company is offering sustainable and profitable recycling solutions in order to contribute to a global circular economy. A goal is to ensure at least 30 per cent of the plastics processed on Krones lines are returned to the cycle as recycled resources.

The company will also continue its research into new recycling innovations at its in-house Recycling Technology Centre, where tests on the recyclability of various plastics, including adhesives and colours, can be conducted under real conditions for customers.
